POSITIONING

Native B2B on Shopify Plus, configured by operators.

Shopify Plus ships with native B2B capabilities — Company Accounts, Catalogs, Price Lists, Quantity Rules, Payment Terms, Customer Accounts, Draft Orders, Tax Exemptions, and B2B Checkout. The features are there. Configuring them around how your B2B customers actually buy is where most activations stall.

B2B Launch is a productized engagement that takes you from a B2B-capable Shopify Plus store to a B2B-active one. The scope is defined. The timeline is fixed at 4–6 weeks. The methodology comes from 18+ years of operating and implementing B2B commerce for manufacturers and distributors.

WHO IT'S FOR

Built for Shopify Plus merchants ready to activate B2B.

PROFILE 01

Shopify Plus DTC merchants extending into B2B

You're running a healthy DTC store on Shopify Plus. You now have wholesale, distributor, or trade buyers asking for Net Terms, negotiated pricing, and self-serve ordering. You don't need a new platform — you need native B2B activated and configured properly.

PROFILE 02

B2B operations running off-platform

Your B2B customers currently order via email, phone, or draft orders. Pricing lives in spreadsheets. You're ready to consolidate everything into Shopify B2B and give your buyers a Customer Accounts portal.

PROFILE 03

Migrating from a third-party B2B portal

You're on Shopify Plus DTC but using a separate B2B app or portal that no longer fits. B2B Launch moves your B2B operations onto Shopify's native B2B capabilities.

THE SPINE

Nine native features. Configured, migrated, and launched.

Shopify Plus ships with nine native B2B features. B2B Launch configures all nine — populates them with your data, aligns them with your business rules, and validates them end-to-end before any customer touches the system.

Feature What we configure
01 Company Accounts B2B company entities with locations, buyers, and permissions
02 Catalogs Company-specific product catalogs with visibility controls
03 Price Lists Custom pricing per company/location — fixed, percentage, or volume tiers
04 Quantity Rules Min, max, and increment enforcement per product
05 Payment Terms Net 30, Net 60, due on fulfillment, custom terms
06 Customer Accounts Self-service portal for orders, invoices, and company settings
07 Draft Orders Admin-created orders for quotes, phone orders, and sales rep workflows
08 Tax Exemptions Company and location-level tax exemption management
09 B2B Checkout Payment Terms, PO collection, and location selection at checkout

Each feature is configured during the engagement, populated with your data via CSV migration, tested end-to-end, and validated before launch.

THE 4–6 WEEK ENGAGEMENT

Four to six weeks. Five phases. One go-live.

01

03
WEEK 3

SCOPE BOUNDARIES

What B2B Launch is — and isn't.

B2B Launch is a configuration engagement. It assumes a Shopify Plus DTC store already in production and a relatively standard B2B operation. The following are not in scope:

  • Custom theme or storefront work
  • Headless / Hydrogen build
  • ERP integration (NetSuite, SAP, Dynamics, ServiceCentre, etc.)
  • Custom Shopify app development
  • Real-time ERP pricing
  • Multi-level approval workflows (3+ tiers)
  • Multi-banner / multi-storefront
  • Complex data migration beyond CSV

WHY US

Configured by operators, not just integrators.

A

Operator-led methodology

B2B Launch is delivered using the same operating principles that power our larger engagements — 18+ years of running and implementing B2B commerce for manufacturers and distributors. The configuration choices come from operating these systems, not just deploying them.

B

Fixed scope, fixed timeline

Productized engagement. The scope is the nine native B2B features, configured. The timeline is 4–6 weeks. The deliverables are listed. No hourly billing. No scope drift.

C

A clean upgrade path

When you outgrow B2B Launch — ERP integration, custom workflows, multi-segment routing — B2B Protocol picks up where Launch leaves off. Same team, same methodology, no replatforming.

FAQ

Common questions about B2B Launch.

What's the difference between B2B Launch and B2B Protocol?
B2B Launch is the configuration tier — for merchants already on Shopify Plus DTC who want native B2B activated quickly and cleanly. Four to six weeks, fixed scope, the nine native features. B2B Protocol is the implementation tier — for merchants migrating from legacy platforms or running operations that need ERP integration, custom buyer portals, multi-segment routing, or our 13 production-proven modules. Most merchants start with B2B Launch and graduate into B2B Protocol as their B2B operations scale. Same team, same methodology, no vendor handoff.
Do I need to be on Shopify Plus already?
B2B Launch is built for merchants already on Shopify Plus DTC. If you're moving from another platform — BigCommerce, Magento, WooCommerce, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, or a custom build — we'll get you there first. Replatforming to Shopify Plus and then activating B2B is a path we run regularly, especially for merchants leaving BigCommerce. Start with our BigCommerce to Shopify Plus migration guide or book a discovery call and we'll scope the right sequence for your business.
Does B2B Launch include ERP integration?
Not in B2B Launch. We deliberately scoped it to Shopify's native B2B features and CSV-based data migration so we can ship in 4–6 weeks at a fixed fee. If you need real-time ERP integration, custom middleware, or live pricing sync from SAP, NetSuite, Dynamics, or another system, that's where B2B Protocol comes in — we handle it as a separate engagement, often sequenced after Launch once your B2B operation is live and you've identified exactly what to integrate. Many merchants start with Launch, run B2B for 6–12 months, and bring us back for ERP integration once they know which workflows actually need real-time data.
Will my buyers get a self-serve portal?
Yes — Customer Accounts is one of the nine native features we configure during the engagement. Your buyers will sign in passwordlessly, see their order history and invoices, manage their team, save reorder lists, and place new orders against their negotiated pricing. We treat the portal as part of the launch, not an afterthought — which means it's reviewed and structured for B2B buying behavior, not left as a generic Shopify default.
What do I need to have ready before kickoff?
Three things. One: confirmed Shopify Plus account with admin access for our team. Two: an internal owner — someone on your side who can answer questions about your pricing logic, customer hierarchy, and B2B operations during Discovery week. Three: your customer and pricing data in usable form (CSVs, ERP exports, or even spreadsheets — we'll structure it). Most clients have all three within a week of signing. The cleaner the inputs, the faster Week 1 closes.
How is pricing handled?
Pricing is scoped on the discovery call once we understand the specifics — number of companies, product catalog size, payment term complexity, training scope, and any add-ons you need. Once we agree on scope, B2B Launch is delivered as a fixed-fee productized engagement with 50/50 payment terms (signing and delivery). No hourly billing, no scope creep, no surprises mid-project. If your scope shifts during the engagement, we surface a change order — you decide whether to absorb it, defer it, or sequence it into a follow-on engagement.
What if my soft launch reveals problems?
That's exactly what soft launch is for. We roll out to 5–10 wholesale customers first specifically to surface real-world issues — pricing edge cases, permission quirks, training gaps — before your full B2B audience touches the system. The enhanced support window covers iteration during this phase. Soft launch isn't a separate billable phase — it's how we de-risk the full launch. If something needs to change, we change it before everyone sees it.
