Shopify is an hosted eCommerce solution (or the fancy word: SAAS).
This means you pay a monthly fee to “rent” the platform. Brands like RedBull and The New York Times use the platform. As of today Shopify is selling more than $55 billion worth of products.
Scalability is no longer a technical issue, no upgrades or patches to install. That means no costly and complicated need to evaluate the impact on code base and customisations, rewrites, QA and load testing as new features are released.
Shopify vs Magento:
Shopify is not a native multi-currency and does not offer full multi-lingual capabilities directly. For creating fully multi-lingual stores, third-party/paid apps are available for Shopify, but it requires a bit more work.
If you are a B2B company and need a lot of price customisations (like price per customer etc…), Shopify is not ideal for you either, specially for ERP Integration as a lot of customisation is needed.
If you are looking for a quick to market solution, launching a new brand or just want to test the market, Shopify might ideal for you.
Migrating from Magento to Shopify:
With the launch of Magento 2.0, many companies using Magento were faced to either upgrade to the new version or re-platform to Shopify. One of the main reason is the scalability, flexibility and reliability (did we mention cost reduction?) of the platform.
We can help you with the replatforming in order to transition your client, order history and catalog seamlessly.
